Privacy Policy

Bridge AI (“Bridge AI,” “we,” “us”) is an educational mentor for immigrant and English language learner (ELL) students. We take student privacy seriously — especially schoolwork, language level, and personal details that can feel sensitive for newcomers.
This page explains our practices in plain language. It is not legal advice. Schools and districts should review their own policies and may need a separate data-processing agreement before classroom rollout.
What we collect
- Account information — name and email via Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google sign-in).
- Profile details you choose to save — grade, school, preferred language, and similar settings that help tailor coaching.
- Learning content — assignment text you upload or paste, explanations, follow-up chat messages, vocabulary progress, practice sessions, and study-planner data.
- Optional media — profile photos or assignment images you upload to Firebase Storage.
- Support messages — feedback, bug reports, and contact form notes you send while signed in.
- Technical basics — app version and browser/device hints when you submit support tickets, so we can debug issues.
How we use AI (OpenAI)
To generate explanations and coaching, assignment text and chat messages are sent from our servers to OpenAI. We use AI to explain and coach — not to complete graded homework for students. We do not use student content to train Bridge AI’s own models. OpenAI processes data under their API terms; your school may require additional contractual protections for classroom use.
Where data is stored
Signed-in accounts store data in Google Firebase: Authentication, Firestore (profiles, assignments, chats, planner), and Storage (photos/files you upload). Guest / local demo mode keeps data on the device only and does not sync to the cloud.
Analytics
We may record lightweight, product analytics events (for example, that a lecture explain ran) to improve Bridge AI. We do not sell student data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the student app. Hosting providers (such as Vercel) and Firebase may process standard operational logs needed to run the service.
Children’s and student data care
Bridge AI is designed for secondary-school and older ELL / immigrant students. Students under 13 may require parental consent under COPPA (and similar laws). Contact us before deploying for elementary use. When partnering with schools, we will work with districts on FERPA-minded practices: access controls, retention, and data-processing agreements. Teachers and parents should never share student passwords.
Your choices
- Update profile details and photos in Settings.
- Clear local data from Settings on your device.
- Sign out anytime.
- Request account deletion or a copy of your data by emailing hello@usebridgeai.com.
